“Gamyu” means “Welcome” and it is the language of the Hualapai Tribe whose members are living by the west side of the Grand Canyon…
The drive to the west side of the Grand Canyon, as far as the eye can see, is just desert, cactus and rocks. The fact that the last 15miles aren’t paved, underlined this impressively again. But the total-body-massage while driving over the gravel runaway was absolutely worth it to see this natural wonder.
On the west side (also called West Rim) there are two scenic spots, the Eagle Point and the Guano Point.
I also had opportunity to photograph some Indian Tipis and to learn a bit about the former way of life of the Hualapai Tribe.
…an indescribable experience ~ absolutely overwhelming!
This picture was taken at EAGLE POINT, where at 4,000 feet above the Colorado River, this Majestic View has been a special point of interest for the Hualapai People. With its beautiful panoramic views of the canyon walls where the Heavens and Earth meet with such magnificenc!
